RIVER FARM
River Farm is a retreat with an emphasis on peace and, of course, treat. In a valley of its own, citrus farms below and a theatre of peaks above, the farm is stunningly quiet and secluded. Eagles, buck, wildflowers and baboons share this untouched fynbos; they even say a leopard roams the higher slopes. Sitting on the stoep the valley seems to pour in with its calming polyphony of bird song and running water. Swim in the rock pools, hike up the valley, cook up a storm or paint the inspiring scene that nature lays before your eyes.
The house is cosily appointed with wooden floors, reed ceilings and an harmonious mixture of new and antique furnishings. It is entirely off the grid and relies on (delicious) spring-water, candles, solar-panels and natural gas.
